Unlike some music schools and studios, I don’t require you to sign up for multiple lessons in a row or to sign a contract agreeing to pay for lessons which haven’t taken place yet, with a teacher you may or may not like.

I don’t charge extra fees for travel (within the Vancouver Metro area) or cancellations. The relationship of trust which I establish with clients does not require any such measures. We have a session, I send an invoice for the session, that’s it.

Unlike some music schools and studios, I do not insist that you book sessions with any set frequency. We focus on quality over quantity, and understand it takes time to digest and process information before advancing. Want to have a lesson every week? No problem. Every 2 weeks? Every month? 6 months? Once a year? Your call will always be welcome and you can expect the same enthusiasm and quality of sessions whether it’s been one day or 5 years since we saw each other.

I travel to you, whether that’s at your home, at your workplace, a personal studio, a band rehearsal, your local church or community centre, or any other venue you arrange - I fight the traffic, you relax. Not everybody has the time, or ability, on a weekday night to drive 30 minutes to a strip mall and back for lessons, You are in control of the environment. Timeslots currently available 7-9pm on weekdays and 9am-10pm on weekends.

I strongly believe in quality over quantity. Over my decades of experience, I have learned that less frequent but longer session times of 90-120 minutes have significant advantages over shorter but higher frequency 30-60 minute sessions. Why? Time flies when we get into the zone, and so many times just as we get into the flow, the hour has passed. A longer session gives us time to delve deep into concepts, allow them to absorb, gives us time for short breaks to readjust and refocus, time to discuss and dive into adjacent concepts and subjects, and to really feel comfortable with each other and start expressing ourselves through the music. My qualifications and experience are second-to-none in the world of brass-playing and musical tuition. I have performed with Europe and North America’s finest orchestras, held adjunct professorships at several higher-education institutes, and graduated with a masters degree from The Juilliard School where I studied with one of the greatest trombonists of all time - Joseph Alessi of the New York Philharmonic orchestra.
